This is a lamp system enabling to illuminate far distance by reducing shaded areas. We are the world's first manufacturer to mass-produce such lamp system.
This is a lamp system under development that delivers the best visibility for the driver during nighttime driving by minimizing shaded areas and the optimal environment for the in-vehicle camera by locally dimming the light.
This is a module to facilitate communication between 360° monitor sensors installed in the lamps and its surroundings to prepare for future autonomous driving area.
This sensor module has a cleaner function to keep sensors in the optimal condition by detecting and automatically removing contamination on the sensor surfaces.
This is an effort, for the future mobility society, where Street Lights equipped with sensors monitoring the surroundings communicate with vehicles and pedestrians any changes in traffic environments.
*”BladeScan” and “Dual View Machine-Vision” are a trademark or registered trademark of KOITO Manufacturing Co., Ltd. *ADB=Adaptive Driving Beam
ADB is a lamp system that adapts high beam patterns to automatically create shaded areas around vehicles ahead, improving visibility for the driver at night and eliminating glare to other vehicles.
BladeScan® is an advanced ADB system that can reduce the shaded area. With the world’s first mass production, this advanced ADB system supports safe nighttime driving by illuminating pedestrians early from a distance.
This advanced ADB lamp system under development. Dual View Machine-Vision™ delivers the optimal environment for both the driver and the in-vehicle camera by minimizing shaded areas of the vehicles ahead to maximize the driver’s visibility during nighttime driving and simultaneously locally dimming the light for the camera to readily detect objects such as traffic signs.
Sensors are installed inside lamps at the four corners of the vehicle, allowing for 360°monitoring of the surroundings, which is crucial for AV. At automation level 5 of a driverless vehicle, sensors project light to communicate with pedestrians and other vehicles.
This sensor module has obstruction detection and self-cleaning functions. Since monitoring surroundings is of the utmost importance for AV’s, the automated cleaning system ensures the sensor will always operate at optimal performance under any environmental conditions.
Smart Street lights support safe and reliable transportation for people and vehicles in the future mobility society with various kinds of vehicles. Street lights equipped with sensors monitor surroundings, collect information about the environment (i.e. traffic, dangers, etc.) and communicate or provide alerts to people and vehicles.
We have accelerated Open Innovation initiatives through the establishment of our innovation outpost, Silicon Valley Lab and participation in Israeli VC. We have also been implementing a blueprint for strong global networks and partnerships, such as the announcement of strategic alliances with CEPTON (LiDAR) and BrightWay Vision (All Weather View Camera).
Cepton develops long-range, high-resolution, low-cost 3D LiDAR sensors that are reliable, embeddable and manufacturable for automotive (ADAS/AVs), smart city, and other applications. Koito has invested 50 million dollars in Cepton and strengthened our partnership to accelerate the commercialization of high-performance LiDAR.
BrightWay Vision("BWV")'s automotive camera system, VISDOM works in all weather conditions based on proprietary and patented GatedVision, active gated-imaging technology. It delivers a continuous clear image in all weather and lighting conditions, enabling reliable object detection and road visibility, improving any sensor suite's reliability, and regaining road safety where vehicles today simply can't see. Koito has invested 24 million dollars in BWV, and through the integration of Koito’s automotive lighting technology and BWV’s technology, we both will accelerate our development of ADAS and autonomous vehicles.
Blickfeld’s 3D solid-state LiDAR adopts silicon MEMS mirrors as its core technology. The LiDAR’s compact design allows easy installation to automotive lighting systems. Koito has evaluated the performance and reliability of Blickfeld’s LiDAR and has been collaborating with them to develop LiDAR technology designed for headlamp integration.
